The owner of this vintage home wanted to remodel without compromising its
original character. The redesign focused on modernizing the space while
respecting the age and charm of the home.
The project consisted of combining the kitchen and family room for more open
living. In order to provide harmony, the millwork was uniformly treated.
The trim was continued to reinforce the home’s unique style and classic
materials for the kitchen were chosen.
As the home was a two-flat, a master suite did not exist. The former second
floor kitchen was converted into a luxurious and modern master bathroom en suite.
The final design is symbiotic with the existing home and its vintage nature
while providing the modern amenities of today.
