Kanji Deck

MPink Design provided planning and consultation services to this Michigan family for a new deck and garden. The family had obtained plans from contractors and landscapers but was not fully satisfied with the direction the project was going.

After reviewing the proposed schemes and assessing the family’s needs and the site itself, we reshaped the plan of the deck. The new design provided a visual break between a steeply landscaped yard and the high first floor as well as maximizing the usable space on the site.

With some concern about how much space the deck should take up, the design specified a space that would be big enough to fit a large outdoor table, a grill, and a comfortable circulation space.
