Pearson polished up  -  kitchen renovation    water tower

Mag Mile,    Chicago Illinois    Completed 2017

A labor of love. We've been discussing work on this kitchen with a special client for years. After deciding on which major changes would be implemented, and which would stay, the project was underway. The design is a combination of classic materials with contemporary touches.

It was important for the owner of this small kitchen to be able to close it off for privacy during entertaining. So, the folding doors to the dining room remained. However, to really maximize space, the double oven was removed. The result is dramatic. A new 36 inch induction range provides added cooking surface while the removal of the ovens allows for ample prep space on either side. The drywall soffit above the existing cabinetry was removed so that the new upper cabinetry could stretch to the ceiling.

Slices of views of the new materials add touches of detail to this already classically designed space, while looking out through the doors to the dining room allows for beautiful and memorizing views of Lake Michigan.
